Who funds us?

The main work of Community Action Fareham is to support local community groups and this is funded by Fareham Borough Council and Hampshire County Council with a contribution from the Fareham and Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group.

This funding is given in recognition of the huge value that volunteers make towards improving the quality of life for people in our communities.

What is the value of volunteer help?

Surveys consistently show that between 20 and 30 percent of the adult population is involved in regular, formal volunteering.  An additional similar percentage gives occasional voluntary help.

Within the borough of Fareham, if the average hours given by volunteers are multiplied by £8 per hour, then the theoretical monetary value of volunteer funding is more than £40m.
