Fareham Walking 4 Health walks are led by trained volunteer Walk Leaders and offer local people the opportunity to:

  • walk at a pace they can manage
  • improve their fitness
  • enjoy the sociable company of others

Health Walks last between 30 and 90 minutes and suit people of varied abilities.   Fareham Walking 4 Health scheme is accredited with Walking for Health, England’s largest network of health walk schemes.  Walking for Health England is run by Macmillan and Ramblers.  For more information about the national scheme please visit www.walkingforhealth.org.uk (this is an external link).

Start Walking

Fareham Walking 4 Health leads a variety of walks in all parts of Fareham borough.

Descriptions of the walks and a diary of dates that each walk is being led are updated every two months and can be viewed here.  Or you are welcome to  collect a copy from the Community Action Fareham office at 163 West Street in Fareham.

New walkers should complete a Walker Registration Form which includes some questions about health conditions. This information is kept confidential and recorded on a secure database.

Registered walkers automatically receive a current walk schedule by email.

Lead a Walk

If you enjoy walking and would like others to join you, you could be a Fareham Walking 4 Health Walk Leader. We give you training to get started and support to keep going. New Health Walks in any part of the Fareham borough are always welcome.
