Minibus Drivers

We have vacancies for both paid and volunteer drivers

This is really valuable community work- where the rewards are clear every day.

The paid work is on a zero hours contract and we are able to have some flexibility for holidays etc too.

The vacancies for the paid work are primarily for work on school runs.  This means term time only with work in the morning (usually 7.30 to 9am) and then for the return from school in the afternoon (usually 2pm to 3.30)

Currently there is also a vacancy for 2 days per week in Fareham and Gosport

Volunteer drivers are needed for a variety of community trips; some can be routine or the driver can help occasionally.  MiDAS training is provided and after x trips for the charity this is refunded in fully.

Recruitment

The safer recruitment process will include an application, references, interview and a criminal records check.  For insurance purposes our minibuses are restricted to drivers over 25.

Drivers must have a D1 category on their licence. Minibus driver training (MiDAS) is given.

Home Helps Needed

If you are looking for a job with hours to suit you and the ability to build up your own regular client base, then applying to be one of our Home Helps could be just the job for you.

Our Home Helps can work for as few or as many hours as they wish, subject to us being able to allocate clients to them.  We would expect that a new Home Help will gradually build up their client base.

Most clients require between one and two hours’ service per week.

Home Helps can specify which particular area within the Fareham Borough they wish to work, and for how many hours a day between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.   Bank Holidays are not included.

As one of our Home Helps you will enjoy:

  • Having a regular client base who you will get to know
  • Having the opportunity to meet regularly with the service Co-ordinator
  • Working within a professional framework of detailed operating procedures that have been written for the service and approved by Hampshire Adult Services
  • Being trained in good practice
  • Being self-employed

Rate of pay is £8.00 per hour, paid directly to you by your clients.

As the role involves considerable contact with vulnerable adults we will use a DBS (criminal records) check as part of the screening process.
